Originally produced and printed in 1611, on the order of King James, this version of the Bible in English is still very popular despite its use of words and phrases that are not commonly used today. It is also known as the ‘Authorised Version’ (AV), its production having been authorised by the King.  It was produced soon after The Great Bible (pictured here) was produced and authorised to be read in churches.
